WHO

Born in the Netherlands to a Polish mother and British father, transplanted to Houston in 1998.  Threatened to leave annually ever since, yet still comfortably here in "H-town" 18 years later.  Avid traveler and food explorer.  People person is an understatement.

what & why

It's time we have a conversation, not a screaming match, and I encourage you do it often with people that are different than you, whether, culturally, religiously, racially, socio-economically.  it might be uncomfortable at first but I promise NOT only will it make you a better person but the world a better place, and isn't that what we all want?  so let's get uncomfortable to be comfortable, as mark twain mentions below, we can either vegetate in one little corner of the earth or we can reach out to others and grow together.  with houston finally being put on the map as a city with an incredibly diverse population i wanted to tackle a project that had been in my brain for quite some time, a love letter of sorts to houston and the people i have met over the past two decades just in case i do finally have to say farewell...

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.
— Mark Twain, American writer, entrepreneur, publisher and lecturer.
